Won a $110M Defense Verdict in Portland, Oregon

Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell attorneys Joseph Farchione and Nicole Grimmesey teamed up with national damage counsel Rich Montes of Mauro Lilling Naparty and local counsel Katie Eichner of Lindsay Hart and Scott O’Halloran of FAVROS Law to win a defense jury verdict against a $110 million demand in a birth injury trial in Portland, Oregon. The case involved a now-seven-year-old child who suffers from cerebral palsy and cognitive delays, which the plaintiffs alleged were the result of negligence. 

Despite a very sympathetic plaintiff, and despite finding that negligence occurred, the jury agreed with the defense that negligence did not cause the child’s injuries. The jury did not award any money to the plaintiffs.
