Law Students
Our firm's exceptional results for industry-leading clients aren’t achieved by partners alone. Far from it; our associates consistently play key roles at trial and throughout the litigation lifecycle. Our summer law clerks, in turn, spend their time doing significant research and writing to support those efforts. And whenever possible, we provide observational opportunities at trials, hearings, depositions, and client meetings. There are no contrived "memos to the file" or fake research assignments. That’s because we design our summer program to mirror the associate experience here.
Associate satisfaction is high because we focus on providing extensive opportunities to lawyers early in their careers. Based exclusively on associate surveys, Vault named us one of the “Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For” nationwide and rated us especially high for formal training and informal training, mentorship, and sponsorship. Vault noted that associates “feel valued and enjoy being able to tackle substantive work from the start in the firm’s collegial, social environment.”

Summer Program
Our summer program gives law students from across the country real litigation experience. For nine weeks, our summer clerks perform legal research, draft memos, motions, and exam outlines, participate in client meetings, and help prep cases for trial. Working side-by-side with WTO lawyers, our clerks grow through formal and informal mentorship opportunities and learn from observing our lawyers in action. Students also explore what it’s like to work at WTO and live in Colorado through activities inside and outside the office.
