WTO Elects 5 New Partners

Denver: Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (WTO) has elected another five lawyers to its partnership.

To start 2024, WTO elevated Ryan Cooke, Daniel Guisbond, Melissa Romero, Jacob Rey, and Erin Tatman to partner.

Ryan Cooke represents sophisticated clients in complex civil disputes across a range of industries and practice areas. His experience includes representing Michelin in a trade secrets case, representing a nation-leading telecom provider in commercial disputes, and defending law firms in professional liability cases. Prior to joining WTO, Ryan served as an associate at Davis Polk in New York City. He earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from the University of Richmond.

Daniel Guisbond helps clients navigate commercial cases across a variety of business sectors. He has represented some of the biggest brand name companies in the country—including Amazon, Yahoo, Pandora, and DISH—in complex disputes nationwide. In addition to his broader commercial experience, Dan maintains a soft intellectual property practice. Prior to joining WTO, he was an associate at firms including Winston Strawn. He earned his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and his B.A. from Cornell University. 

Melissa Romero represents clients in complex commercial litigation. She has substantial experience developing and implementing litigation and trial strategies and was on the team that won a complete victory following a four-day arbitration for one of the nation’s largest beauty and wellness franchisors. Melissa earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She received a Masters of Social Work from the University of Denver and a B.A. from Colorado College; she held elementary school and college teaching positions before law school.

Jacob Rey represents clients in high-exposure cases nationwide. He routinely defends both small and large companies in complex contract, trade secret, and other commercial disputes. Jake was on the team that won a $39 million plaintiff’s jury verdict as co-trial counsel for Allergan and Duke University after a patent infringement trial. Jake earned his J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School and his B.A. from Grand Valley State University.

Erin Tatman defends clients against professional liability and product liability lawsuits. Her clients include individual healthcare providers, healthcare organizations, lawyers, and law firms. A chemist by training, Erin previously worked as a land assistant for a large oil and gas company in Colorado and as a research fellow at the National Institutes of Health Imaging Probe Development Center and Laboratory of Computational Biophysics. Colorado Super Lawyers has named Erin a Rising Star for five straight years. She earned her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law and her B.A. from Colgate University.
