Human Resources Assistant

Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell is seeking a full time, experienced Human Resources Assistant. This position will support the HR team for our Denver based law firm.

Responsibilities include:

  • The HR Assistant will assist with benefit enrollments, onboarding, auditing, scheduling interviews, tracking applicants, and other tasks. The role will also assist on department projects as needed and report to the Director of Human Resources. This is an entry level role that would be perfect for someone looking to get into HR. 


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication & organizational skills
  • Excellent written skills
  • Ability to multitask and switch between tasks easily

  • Independent case management including document organization, discovery and database management, trial preparation, calendaring/docketing and familiarity with federal and state court rules/procedures.


  • 4 year degree,  and a paralegal certificate is preferred ; 
  • Must have minimum of seven years of experience managing all phases of complex litigation including going to trial;

Assistant Paralegal

Our Assistant Paralegals perform challenging and substantive legal work under the supervision of senior paralegals and attorneys. 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Maintaining case management systems in accordance with firm guidelines
  • Learning to analyze case documents to prepare subset compilations for attorney review 
  • Preparing exhibits and binders for depositions and trials
  • Drafting correspondence and some court forms
  • Scheduling and coordinating meetings and depositions
  • Assisting with collection and production of documents
  • Maintaining litigation databases and providing database search support
  • Conducting fact gathering research and assembling background information
  • Organizing client files and preparing working notebooks
  • Coordinating with his/her team to meet internal and client timeline requirements 
  • Assisting with other tasks as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree required
