Conroy v. Dennis, Colorado Secretary of State, No. 06-CV-6072 (Colo. Oct. 19, 2006)

WTO lawyers represented a non-partisan group of Colorado voters who brought suit against Colorado Secretary of State (SoS) Ginette Dennis in the first lawsuit in the country to successfully challenge the state's certification and use of Direct Record Electronic (DRE) voting machines.  In this public interest case, followed closely by national and local media, the court ruled that the SoS had failed to promulgate required security standards and had done an "abysmal" job of security testing.  The court ordered that the DREs not be used until they were re-tested and re-certified and additional security standards and procedures approved by WTO were implemented.

WTO lawyers represent their clients' interests in the Colorado General Assembly as the state continues to address the voting systems issue.
