Community Impact
We bring the same drive and commitment to our community work as our client work. That started with our founders and is sustained by people across the firm who believe in supporting those in need, creating opportunity for others, and ensuring all have access to justice. We lead initiatives and build lasting partnerships with organizations across Colorado and the nation.
Whether through nationally recognized pro bono litigation, hands-on volunteer efforts through our WTO Gives program, or contributions through the WTO Foundation, we pursue the principle articulated by co-founder Mike O’Donnell that “a firm can’t be a first-rate institution without looking out for its community, too.”
Opportunity
At our firm, initiative is expected and supported. Case in point: When Associate Celyn Giefer was just two years out of law school, she proposed to firm management a new community service initiative, WTO Gives. The effort has grown to where 85% of our team members volunteer time or money each year, and Celyn now chairs the committee for the WTO Foundation and WTO Gives.
Commitment
Our annual fundraising campaign for the Legal Aid Foundation (LAF) of Colorado to help needy Coloradans receive free legal services is a great example of how the entire firm works together. Led by a group of associates and supported by lawyers and professional staff at all levels, we raised more money than any other law firm and set an LAF record for most money ever raised by any team.
Participation
We established the WTO Foundation more than 20 years ago to support our team members’ desire to give back to their communities Through the years, we steadily have strengthened our commitment to help those in need.
