WTO Partner Mark Clouatre Receives 2010 Richard Marden Davis Award

01.25.2011

DENVER: The civil litigation firm of Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell is proud to announce that partner Mark Clouatre has received the Richard Marden Davis Award for 2010. This award is presented each year by the law firm of Davis Graham & Stubbs and the Denver Bar Association to one Denver lawyer under the age of 40 who combines excellence as a lawyer with creative civic, cultural, educational, and charitable leadership.

The receipt of this award recognizes Clouatre's long-standing service to the Denver community, and in particular its children. He currently chairs the board of directors of Denver Kids, Inc., a nonprofit organization that supports Denver Public School students who face the challenges of higher risk environments in completing high school. He is a board member of The Wildlife Experience, an interactive museum. He served for years in various board positions for the Denver Active 20-30 Children's Foundation, where he helped raise over a million dollars for children's charities throughout Colorado. In addition to his leadership roles, he has been an active volunteer as an elementary school tutor, youth coach and mentor, and Rotary Club member. Clouatre was honored to be named a finalist in 2010 for the 9News Leader of the Year Award.

Clouatre's complex litigation practice focuses on commercial, franchise, product liability, and general tort cases. He has successfully tried more than 15 complex civil litigation matters in seven states. Last year, he oversaw and co-managed the arbitration of over 400 franchise matters in 48 states for one client. His legal accolades include selection as a Colorado Super Lawyer and a Law Week Colorado "Lawyer of the Year" for 2010.

Clouatre was named to the board of directors of the Faculty of Federal Advocates in 2010. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado and a member of its 1992 President's Leadership Class. He graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist's University Dedman School of Law in 1995.

At the award dinner, Clouatre thanked his wife and family, his mentors, and his current and previous law firms for their support of his career and service to the community. He said, "Inspiring hope, especially in those who face circumstances that challenge their hope, is what drives me to help others."
