Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell Announces Associate Salary Increases

06.14.2016

Denver: The 100-attorney, national litigation firm of Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell (WTO) has announced it plans to increase starting associate salaries from $135,000 to $160,000 effective January 1, 2017. Existing associates will receive increases accordingly at the time of the Firm’s regularly scheduled salary adjustment process, also effective January 1, 2017.

“By narrowing the salary gap with BigLaw, WTO will continue to attract and retain top-caliber associates to serve our name-brand clients in complex trials, appeals, and class action litigation nationwide,” explains WTO’s managing partner Carolyn Fairless. “We will continue to challenge BigLaw with lawyer talent comparable to that found at the most prestigious firms in major metro areas, but at a fraction of BigLaw’s fees.”

Two-thirds of the firm’s associates have served as judicial clerks in federal courts or state supreme courts. One-third moved to WTO for on-their-feet trial experience and Colorado living after working as associates in BigLaw firms, including in New York, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

WTO’s outstanding associate talent has helped the firm make The National Law Journal’s Midsize Hot List two years in a row and Vault’s list of the Best Midsize Law Firms to Work For.

Over the past decade, Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell lawyers have won 78 complete trial verdicts, 41 complex arbitrations, and 64 significant appeals nationwide for our clients. Established in 1998, WTO currently numbers 100 lawyers. The firm represents sophisticated clients in high-stakes civil trials, appeals, arbitrations, and related matters, including class actions, mass torts, and multidistrict litigation.
