Total Concept and Feel: A Proper Test for Children's Books, 5 UCLA Ent. L. Rev. 141 (1997)
In this article, the author uses a hypothetical case to discuss the Copyright Act of 1976 - more specifically, the boundary line between taking an idea and copying expression - in the realm of children's literature. He concludes that the "total concept and feel" test appears to offer an appropriate middle ground, providing the necessary heightened protection to children's literature while at the same time preserving sufficient ties to the core doctrinal copyright tests.
