Julie Walker has extensive experience as a trial lawyer representing individuals and businesses in federal and state courts as well as in arbitrations and mediations.  She has handled complex litigation for all types of businesses in a variety of matters involving construction, professional liability, product liability, complicated torts, and employment and contract disputes.

Julie has occupied leadership positions in a number of professional legal organizations, including the Defense Research Institute, Colorado Civil Justice League, and American Inns of Court. She received the Judge William E. Doyle American Inn of Court Mentoring Award and is a member of the NITA Faculty. Julie is a former member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee and an advisor to the firm on ethics matters.

  • National Trial Counsel for global shoe manufacturer.
  • Defended pharmaceutical company against mass tort claims.

Construction/Commercial Real Estate

  • Defended protective coatings contractor against personal injury claims.
  • Tried to verdict commercial landlord's eviction proceeding, including award of attorneys' fees for landlord-client.
  • Tried to defense verdict contract dispute arising out of construction of retail mall.  Affirmed on appeal.
  • Represented engineering firm seeking additional compensation for services provided in construction of wastewater treatment facility.
  • Defended general contractor against claims by injured workers of steel erector subcontractor.
  • Defended crane manufacturer against products liability claims in conjunction with construction accident.
  • Represented structural steel manufacturer and erector in pursuit of delay cost impact claim arising out of ski resort construction.
  • Defended oil refinery in suit seeking additional compensation from general contractor.
  • Represented construction manager in complex dispute involving general contractor and municipality arising out of jail expansion.
  • Prosecuted construction defect claim on behalf of owner of apartment complex against builder.
  • Represented concrete foundation contractor in all areas of construction-related disputes.

  • Defended computer networking firm against discrimination charges.
  • Defended global engineering firm against discrimination charges.
  • Defended broker/dealer against executive breach of contract claim.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of employer against breach of employment contract claim.
  • Prosecuted non-compete agreement on behalf of construction-related company against former employee.
  • Prosecuted non-compete agreement on behalf of computer networking firm against former sales employee. 

Financial/Professional Services

  • Defended national lender against claims of conspiracy, mortgage fraud, and lender liability.
  • Defended national lender against breach of contract claim for loan repurchase agreement.
  • Defended broker/dealer against multiple cases alleging securities fraud.  Tried to verdict.
  • Defended wholesale insurance broker in complex litigation involving commercial property coverage.
  • Obtained summary judgment on behalf of law firm in action alleging claims of securities fraud, legal malpractice.
  • Represented Fortune 100 lender in various mortgage-related actions including class actions alleging TILA, RESPA violations.
  • Represented national finance company in variety of commercial credit disputes.
  • Defended individual officer and director liability claims arising out of alleged corporate malfeasance/shareholder litigation. 

Contracts

  • Defended agricultural products producer against breach of contract claims.
  • Represented computer networking solutions provider in contract negotiations and enforcement.
  • Six week trial to verdict contract dispute between cardiac surgeon and hospital regarding surgery privileges.
  • Tried to defense verdict contract dispute between product manufacturer and supplier.
  • Tried to defense verdict contract dispute arising out of commercial pool installation.
