Benchmark Litigation Selects WTO as 2015 Colorado Firm of the Year

Date: 01.30.15

DENVER: In a January 29 awards ceremony in New York City, Benchmark Litigation named Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell the 2015 Colorado Firm of the Year. WTO was recognized for "the gravitas of [our] case matters during 2014, including potential landmark cases or verdicts with exceptionally high monetary stakes."

WTO's recent victories include a complete defense jury verdict for Whirlpool in a $66 million consumer class action trial in Ohio; a Ninth Circuit victory for Mercedes-Benz USA resulting in a published opinion; and dismissal of the central claims brought against our client, CollegeAmerica, by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as part of its national campaign to restrict employers' language in separation agreements.

"We are honored by this recognition, especially among a field of such excellent competitors," said WTO Chairman Michael O'Donnell. "Colorado is a great state to call home as we try cases for clients all across the nation."

The Firm of the Year honor caps an already exciting season for WTO in this directory. Benchmark ranked the firm among the top 24 firms in the nation for product liability defense; listed WTO in the top tier in Colorado for litigation; and included managing partner Carolyn Fairless in its national Top 250 Women in Litigation.

Wheeler Trigg O'Donnell LLP defends some of the nation's best-known entities and professionals in civil disputes that threaten their businesses, brands, reputations, people, and relationships. In the past five years alone, WTO lawyers have tried over 45 cases to verdict nationwide. Our lawyers serve as national counsel in high-stakes trials, appeals, arbitrations, and related complex matters, including class actions, mass torts, and multidistrict litigation.
