Ethical Issues with Serving on Nonprofit Boards
Attorneys are often invited to serve on nonprofit boards of directors. In the course of such service, the attorney may be asked to provide legal advice and counsel to the organization. However, giving such advice can present a number of ethical considerations, such as conflicts of interest for the attorney as well as potential exposure to professional malpractice claims. Attorney Nancy Cohen will discuss these issues and how to avoid the potential pitfalls.
